As many of you know the great Richard Stell had a heart attack last Friday. He has some heart issues that will require further surgery. We are trying to help Richard out by giving all proceeds from Born Weird book sales (on may 14-15) to Richard to help with his medical bills. Help this legend of tattooing if you can!
All the pre orders have shipped. If you pre ordered a book and it hasn’t arrived yet please email us so we can figure out what happened. We have been getting a lot of pictures of people with the books. As usual with us the pre order came with some extra goodies. We hope everyone is happy with the final product and that it was worth the wait. Kayla, Craig and I would like to thank everyone who pre ordered the book and everyone who did a painting for this book. With out your support this project would have been impossible. We have some great tattoo history books planned for this year so check back here because we will update the blog as it develops.
The books arrived late Friday. We are pulling a few late nights this weekend so all the books can get packaged up and sent out on Monday 4-23-13. We are really excited to get everyone’s books out to them. We want to thank everyone who pre ordered the book. We hope the like the silk screened packaging and the other extras. We received a hand full of advanced copies of the Born Weird book. It has been very well received so far. The cover seems to be a real eye grabber. The artist’s copies and the pre orders for the book are going to ship around April 10th or so. We have everything in place so we can get the orders shipped out quickly. If you did paintings for the book and have not gotten them back yet they will ship with your copy of the book when they arrive. If you pre ordered the book it will be mailed in a limited hand screened mailer as an extra. Thanks for the interest in this project. We hope you are all happy with it!!

Born Weird pre orders have started. We still have a few of the limited prints left but they are going quickly. When they are sold out we will make a post on the web page letting everyone know. We are still expecting the books to be here by the end of March/early April. If you have any questions about your order or about the book please hit us up!
Pre orders for the Born weird book start tonight 1-25-13 around 9:00 mountain time. The first 200 pre orders get a limited edition print on nice watercolor paper. The book is going to be 11×14 and 120 pages limited to 2000. Each contributing artist has 4 paintings of weird or gross subject matter. Don’t sleep on the pre order. The Zeis prints were spoken for in less that 24 hours. We expect the books to ship late March/ early April. Check The Occult Vibrations page for a nice write up of the book

Yellow Beak Press has a few projects coming down the pipe right now. Our next project is an exhibit catalog for an art show with the theme “Born Weird” at Portland’s own Upper Playground gallery. Craig Brown of Historic Tattoo and Scott Boyer of Yellow Beak Press have hand picked the contributors for this project. Tattooers were selected and asked to paint four sheets containing gross or weird subject matter. The result seems to be all over the board from gross-out to just bizarre. We promise it won’t disappoint! The book we are producing will include all of the content from the exhibit and some extra material. We hope to have it out in early 2013. Check back here for production updates. Be sure not to miss the opening on 10-4-12 at PDX’s Upper Playground gallery. The exhibit will be up for 2 months after the opening. The roster is as follows.

We had a slight hang up in customs but everything showed up just fine. We are in the process of packing and shipping all of the pre orders. Thanks to everyone who pre ordered the book. We are sorry the wait was so long.
The release party was a blast. We want to thank everyone who came out especially everyone who traveled from out of state to celebrate with us. Lots and dancing and photo booth shenanigans were had.

For those of you interested in traveling or in the Denver area we are having a release party for the Zeis book. The Denver Press Club was nice enough to host it for us. It will have a cash bar, free vintage photo booths and Zeis related items on display. It promises to be a great time!
